Zombie beer made out of real brains

Dock Street Brewery from Philadelphia are great fans of AMC’s post-apocalyptic zombie series The Walking Dead. While some fans collects special edition releases and merchandise, Head Brewer Justing Low and Brewery Representative Sasha Certo-Ware, decided to make their own zombie beer. Dock Street Walker is an American Pale Stout brewed with wheat, oats, flaked barley, organic cranberry, and Smoked Goat Brains.

Their new brew will be released on March 30th, and that evening they will of course be screening the season finale of The Walking Dead. So if you’re in Philly that day, you know where to go to find brains!

Here at Black Forest Mag HQ we visit Etsy almost every day looking for special gems and treasures. It’s such great inspo, both for planning DIY-projects and for exploring other artisans so that we can grow in our own creative process. Often we find items and artists that are too good not to be shared with others.

And because of that, we hereby kick off our own column named BlackCraft! Every now and then we’ll present a treasure wich we think represents our mission; Art in its blackest form!

Being fans of both David Lynch and… yes, Champagne, it pleased us when we found out that David Lynch did a collaboration with famous vintage Champagne brand Dom Pérignon in 2012. For most of you, surreal film director David Lynch, is probably most famous for his grand work like Twin Peaks, Eraserhead, Lost Highway, Blue Velvet, and Mulholland Dr. Apart from being a film director, and even a competent photographer, he has now also designed the label of a limited edition of Dom Pérignon. We’re excited!
